About Me

Hi there! My name is Kristy Magee (she/her/hers) and I am passionate about helping others learn. I have spent more than 15 of my professional years in educational environments helping others develop through teaching, managing, advising, coaching, training, and designing.

I am a helper in everything I do. I consider myself to be optimistic, kind, and organized in both my personal and professional daily interactions. I enjoy utilizing my sense of humor, problem-solving skills, and innovative way of thinking to construct interactions that are engaging, thoughtful, and resourceful. With a background in career coaching and instruction, I approach collaborative projects from an appreciative lens. With a Master of Arts in Communication, I create meaningful and engaging interactions that are strengthened by excellent communication strategies.

Throughout my career I have utilized learning management systems like Canvas through instruction and development of courses and trainings. I have a strong eye for detail and innovative approaches to communications to ensure that the story is told in an engaging way. I also have an interest in better understanding auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning styles to ensure that all learning preferences are supported when creating content virtually.

As an educator, I have multiple years of experience working with subject matter experts, conducting needs assessments, and developing learning outcomes. I recently started working with Articulate 360 and Rise authoring software and enjoy the ease and versatility it provides the creator and the learner. The possibilities are endless! I am passionate about education and doing everything I can to motivate and positively impact the learner, no matter the role I am serving in for the organization. Because of my well-rounded background, I can empathize with many different perspectives. I also enjoy taking on new challenges to restructure a program or organization that needs a fresh perspective.

In my free time, you’ll see me supporting local theatre and the arts in my community whenever I get a chance. I enjoy spending time with my beautiful family and two dogs, and crafting at any opportunity. I am a proud parent of a neurodivergent child who has shown me that learning is a unique and beautiful process to each individual. This is my “why” for being a life-long learner and coaching others to be their best version of themselves during the learning process. Let me know how I can best support you. Thank you for visiting!
